FAMILY LAW

Our highly regarded Family Law department was set up by Susan Black in 1993, since which time the department has expanded and gone from strength to strength.

Our clients come from all walks of life and we are accustomed to dealing with high-profile cases, involving high net worth individuals.

We deal with all aspects of family law, including:

  • separation and divorce
  • finance and property issues, including enforcement of foreign elements
  • cross-jurisdictional issues
  • injunctions to prevent the disposition of assets
  • disputes between unmarried partners over financial or children issues
  • civil partnerships (including pre-civil partnership agreements)
  • children issues including residence, contact, wardship proceedings and international leave to remove/relocation cases
  • domestic abuse and violence
  • prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
  • disputed inheritance claims
  • family mediation, including mediation information and assessment meetings
  • collaborative law

When dealing with cases involving complex trusts, offshore assets, tax or Will issues, we have the advantage of being able to tap into the expertise of other partners in the firm who specialise in these areas. We are also able to make referrals to external sources of expert advice and therapeutic support, including family mediation services, counselling organisations (for individual counselling and/or relationship counselling for you as a couple) and parenting information services.

It is often best to obtain professional advice as early as possible so that you know exactly where you stand and can plan accordingly. We provide careful analysis of your needs and prompt effective legal action, when required. We make you aware of all the options available to resolve your issues, including family mediation and  collaborative law (for clients who do not wish to go to court), both of which we can provide in-house.
